Maintenance Officer

About the role

We're currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join a well-established aged care facility on a full-time temporary assignment. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong maintenance background who enjoys a hands-on role and takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional and well maintained. You'll be responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance, furniture and equipment movements, and supporting refurbishment projects. This position offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start available.

Duties

• Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across the facility.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment and assets.
• Assist with furniture and equipment relocations throughout the site.
• Support refurbishment and improvement projects as required.
• Update and maintain maintenance records using the IRMA inventory tracking system.
• Identify maintenance issues and report or rectify them in a timely manner.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with workplace procedures.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working in a maintenance or facilities maintenance role.
• Trade qualification is not essential; however, demonstrated maintenance experience is required.
• Ability to use computer-based maintenance or inventory management systems (experience with IRMA is advantageous but not essential).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass a National Police Check.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
• Ability to successfully pass a Drug & Alcohol screening.
