Sustainability Engineer

Built Holdings

Built isn’t waiting for the future. We’re building it.

Shape sustainability outcomes across some of WA’s most significant construction projects. At Built, you'll have the autonomy, visibility and support to influence change and help grow the future of sustainability across the business.

The Opportunity

As Sustainability Engineer, you will play a key role in embedding sustainability and social impact outcomes across Built's WA projects. Working closely with project teams, consultants and site-based sustainability champions, you will help ensure sustainability is considered from design through to delivery while supporting the achievement of Green Star, NABERS and other project sustainability targets.

Success in this role will see you:

  • Drive sustainability outcomes across multiple live construction projects across WA, helping teams deliver meaningful environmental and social impact outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams and site sustainability champions, increasing engagement, awareness and accountability across projects.
  • Coordinate and guide the delivery of Green Star, NABERS, WELL and low-carbon initiatives, ensuring requirements remain on track throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sustainability processes, reporting and performance across the WA business.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, helping sustainability become a stronger and more visible part of how Built delivers projects

What we are looking for

We are looking for a sustainability professional who is passionate about creating practical outcomes within a project environment and enjoys building relationships to drive change.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience delivering sustainability outcomes within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Green Star and NABERS rating tools. Exposure to WELL or LEED will be highly regarded.
  • The ability to influence project teams, build stakeholder relationships and drive outcomes without formal authority.
  • Experience managing sustainability requirements, reporting and compliance across projects.
  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, engineering, environmental science, the built environment or a related discipline.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach and the confidence to operate independently while collaborating nationally
