Internal Opportunity Head of Flight Operations (Australian AOC)

Help shape the future of MAF's Australian Flight Operations.

We're seeking an experienced pilot and leader to step into the role of Head of Flight Operations (Australian AOC) and CASA Nominated Position Holder (NPH).

This is a significant leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about aviation safety, operational excellence, and developing people.

You'll provide oversight of all flying operations conducted under MAF International's Australian Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), ensuring our operations continue to meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism.

Working closely with the Director of Flight Operations, Country Directors, senior pilots, CASA, and operational leaders, you'll provide strategic leadership across our Australian AOC while supporting programmes to deliver safe, effective aviation services that enable MAF's mission.

In this role you will

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all flight operations under the Australian AOC.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with CASA and MAF operational standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Senior Programme Pilots and flight operations teams.
  • Oversee pilot standards, fatigue management, training coordination, and operational readiness.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, operational improvements, and aviation projects across MAF International.
  • Represent MAF with CASA and other aviation stakeholders while supporting the ongoing development of our aviation capability

As the Head of Delivery, you will report to the Director of Flight Operations.

We're looking for someone who has

  • Significant flying experience (minimum 2,000 hours total time).
  • Current Commercial Pilot Licence (or ability to convert to an Australian CPL).
  • Strong operational knowledge and a passion for aviation safety.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to develop and mentor others.
  • A collaborative, servant-hearted leadership style aligned with MAF's Christian mission and values.
