The City of Kalgoorlie‑Boulder is seeking a proactive and community‑focused
Community Ranger to join our team. In this role, you will help promote a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors while delivering high‑quality ranger services across the community.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Coordinator Ranger Services, you will play a key role in delivering ranger services across the City, including patrols, responding to community requests, enforcing local laws, managing animal control matters, and providing education to support compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the community, is committed to fairness, and thrives in a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Community Rangers promote public safety by patrolling, responding to complaints, and monitoring public spaces. They ensure compliance with local laws through education, warnings, and fines, while also managing animal control issues. The role involves engaging with the community, keeping accurate records, and working with other agencies, all while acting professionally and supporting a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who has
The ideal candidate will have experience in community safety, compliance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of local laws and regulations being desirable.
They will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and sound judgement.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective time management are essential to manage competing priorities.
The successful applicant will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, with proficiency in basic computer systems.
A current National Police Clearance and a WA “C” Class driver's licence are required.
