We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our Contracts and Supplier Strategy team in Perth on a full-time basis. This team leads the commercial and contracting strategy that underpins the successful delivery of APA’s major infrastructure and growth projects.

Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, you will play a key role in leading complex, high-value sourcing activities, developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing tender processes, and negotiating commercial agreements that enable balanced, delivery-focused outcomes across APA’s project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver complex, high-value sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, project priorities, and procurement best practices.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including market engagement, tendering (ECI and RFx), evaluation, negotiation, and contract award processes.
  • Drive value-for-money outcomes by balancing cost, quality, risk, supplier capability, and whole-of-life commercial considerations.
  • Manage commercial, contractual, supply chain, and procurement risks while ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with business and project stakeholders to translate operational requirements into effective sourcing and contracting strategies.
  • Monitor supplier and contract performance to achieve agreed commercial benefits, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Background

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex procurement and strategic sourcing activities within large, project-based or infrastructure-focused organisations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven capability in supplier negotiations, contract management, cost analysis, and value delivery.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Project teams.
  • Sound understanding of procurement governance, probity requirements, tendering processes, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong risk management capability, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier, contract, and supply chain risks.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide commercial advice and manage supplier performance issues.

Contracts and Supplier Strategy builds strong internal and external relationships to devise sustainable contracting arrangements that enable APA to be the partner of choice in delivering infrastructure solutions for the energy transition.

We support the delivery of energy infrastructure projects across Australia by providing expert commercial and contract services across gas transmission and storage, gas powered generation, and power.
