The Company

Our client is a growing food manufacturing business based in Melbourne's South East, known for producing high-quality products for major retail and food service customers. With a strong focus on food safety and continuous improvement, they've built a reputation for operational excellence and are looking to strengthen their Quality team.

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining product quality and food safety standards across the production process. You'll work closely with production, warehouse, and technical teams to ensure compliance with quality specifications, food safety regulations, and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include

- Conducting quality checks and inspections across raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods

- Monitoring compliance with HACCP, food safety, and quality management systems

- Recording and reporting quality data, non-conformances, and corrective actions

- Supporting internal and external audits (e.g. SQF, BRC, or customer audits)

- Working with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and drive continuous improvement

- Maintaining accurate documentation and traceability records

- Assisting with product testing, sampling, and shelf-life trials as required

Your Background

- Previous experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Food Technology role within food manufacturing

- Solid understanding of HACCP, food safety principles, and quality management systems

- Experience supporting audits (SQF, BRC, or similar) is highly regarded

- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, hands-on approach to problem-solving

- Good communication skills, with the ability to work closely with production and technical teams

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including some flexibility around shift times if required

- Relevant qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field are desirable but not essential
