Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for an ILS Lead in Canberra to provide specialist ILS expertise to a high frequency communication project in Defence.
What You'll Do
This role offers broad exposure across ILS acquisition activities, stakeholder engagement and Defence project delivery. Key responsibilities include:
- Support and manage ILS-related aspects of JP9101PH1 acquisition activities, including coordination with the Prime Contractor.
- Lead or contribute to ILS working groups and mandated system reviews for acquisition deliverables.
- Review, assess and provide clear feedback on ILS acquisition documentation, including the ILSP and associated plans.
- Assist in developing and maintaining SHFC ILS documentation and standard operating procedures, as directed by the ILSM SHFC L3.
- Provide technical and logistics advice to support acquisition planning, risk management and informed decision-making.
What You'll Bring
- All other tasks as directed by the ILS Manager or Deputy ILS Manager.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in ILS, preferably in acquisition and sustainment environments.
- Familiarity with ASDEFCON suite and Defence procurement processes.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to interpret complex contractual and technical requirements and provide actionable recommendations.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
