About The Role

Responsible for managing train movements within a designated control area using signalling systems, ensuring compliance with all operational procedures. You will support safe and efficient passenger and freight services, with travel between locations and occasional overnight stays as required.

Key accountabilities include

  • Operate infield signalling equipment for train arrivals and departures across multiple locations.
  • Develop proficiency across Train Order locations on the V/Line network and work across different sites during shifts (with travel as required).
  • The role includes ground-level work, assisting with points and signalling equipment, and requires regular walking on uneven terrain, along with effective communication with stakeholders across the network.

Roster & Locations

  • Master roster working every second weekend, on call 24/7
  • Rotating shifts across morning, afternoon evening
  • Operates across various locations within a 300km radius of Echuca.
  • Flexibility is essential, including a willingness to travel and work across a 24/7 shift roster.

About You

A safety-focused and reliable professional with eagerness to support train movements across multiple locations. You will work effectively both independently and collaboratively, following strict safeworking rules, maintaining accurate legible records, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient operations.

You are flexible and proactive, with a willingness to travel and work across varied environments. Committed to safety, customer service, and continuous improvement, you deliver reliable outcomes while contributing to a positive team culture.

To be considered for entry into the selection process for this role, applicants must meet the following 'key selection criteria' which forms part of our merit-based recruitment process:

  • Hold a current full Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to commit to regular travel across multiple locations within a 300km radius of Echuca
  • Willingness and availability to commit to a permanent parttime role – 48 hours a fortnight
  • Available on a rotating roster 24/7
