Casual Production Operator

We’re seeking Casual Production Operators to support safe, efficient production at our Echuca manufacturing site. This is a hands-on, rostered role where your day-to-day tasks will vary based on operational needs, your training and competency sign-off, and the area you’re working in (e.g., processing, manual handling, materials handling, cleaning, labelling and inspection).

Shift work is a requirement for this position, including 12-hour day or night shifts.

Key Position Responsibilities Include

• Operate & monitor equipment as trained; report issues to the Team Leader/Line Leader
• Keep the line supplied with packaging/consumables (e.g., pouches, lids, labels)
• Follow all safety, food safety, quality, environmental and hygiene requirements, including SOPs, permits, site rules and PPE
• Participate in required site communications (pre-start checks, toolbox talks, etc.)
• Pack, re-pack, assemble and palletise products as needed
• Complete basic quality checks (e.g., visual, pack/label checks) and confirm product presentation
• Accurately record required information (paper and/or electronic), including checks, counts, downtime reasons and quality outcomes
• Move materials/finished goods using pallet jacks/trolleys or powered equipment (e.g., forklift)
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping, including rostered cleaning to schedules/procedures
• Support other teams as needed to meet production priorities

About You

• Current Forklift Licence
• Commitment to food safety and personal safety/hygiene practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and interpret measurements and data
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in the food manufacturing industry (training will be provided)
• Experience using fixed plant machinery and forklifts
• Commitment to continuous improvement practices
