Working within TSA's National AOD Model of Care, you'll empower participants to reduce harm, build resilience and develop the skills and confidence needed to create positive, lasting change.

About The Role

As an AOD Case Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults and families participating in our residential alcohol and other drug recovery program. Working as part of a supportive team, you will support participants to identify and achieve their recovery goals while improving their health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

No two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with participants and support them throughout their recovery journey in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments, screening and risk evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment and recovery plans.
  • Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed case management and ongoing support.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with internal and external services, including mental health, medical and specialist providers.
  • Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational group programs, including TSA's Foundations Program.
  • Support participants to build practical life skills, healthy coping strategies and long-term recovery goals.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements.
  • Promote culturally safe, inclusive and person-centred practice, particularly when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll be passionate about supporting people through recovery and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

You'll Bring

  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (or a related qualification), or relevant industry experience. Applicants currently studying may also be considered.
  • Experience in alcohol and other drug services, case management or community services.
  • Knowledge of harm minimisation, trauma-informed practice and recovery-oriented care.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while managing a varied caseload.
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, LGBTQIA+ people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills, resilience and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
  • Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
