Are you passionate about supporting students with disability to succeed in higher education?
We are seeking compassionate, reliable and proactive Education Access Workers (EAWs ) to join our casual talent pool, supporting students across multiple higher education campuses in Melbourne. With a variety of ongoing shifts available throughout the semester, this is an excellent opportunity for those studying or working in disability support, education, allied health or related fields.
Shifts are allocated based on student timetables and your availability.
About the Role
As an Education Access Worker, you will provide one-on-one support to students with disability, helping them participate confidently and independently in their classes. Support may include:
- Assisting students to navigate online learning platforms, including Canvas
- Providing participation support by breaking down tasks and clarifying concepts during classes
- Encouraging independence while providing appropriate academic support
- Assisting students to stay focused and engaged throughout lectures, tutorials and practical classes
- Working collaboratively with university staff while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
- Providing support across face-to-face and online learning environments
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills and confidence using online learning platforms
- The ability to work independently while remaining adaptable and professional
- Excellent organisational skills, reliability and punctuality
- A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and student confidentiality
Essential Requirements
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Availability to commit to a minimum of three shifts per week
- Ability to travel to campuses across Melbourne as required
Highly Regarded
- Studying, completed or partially completed qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, Educational Support, Allied Health or a related discipline
- Mental Health First Aid qualification
- Previous experience supporting people with disability, students or within an education setting
