About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PCN (Process Control Network) Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting major mining and industrial operations. This role focuses on the design, implementation, support, and optimization of Operational Technology (OT) and Process Control Network (PCN) environments that are critical to business operations.
You will work closely with control systems, cybersecurity, and operations teams to deliver secure, reliable, and resilient industrial network solutions across complex OT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Process Control Network (PCN) infrastructure within OT environments.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and monitoring platforms.
- Support integration activities across SCADA systems, control systems, and industrial applications.
- Investigate and resolve network performance, connectivity, and cybersecurity issues.
- Contribute to network architecture, standards development, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, and migration projects.
- Collaborate with OT, cybersecurity, and operational teams to improve network reliability and security.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, engineering standards, and site-specific requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience supporting industrial networks within mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or similar OT environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Ethernet Networking
- TCP/IP
- Routing & Switching
- VLANs
- Network Security Principles
- Hands-on experience with industrial networking technologies such as:
- Cisco
- Hirschmann
- Stratix
- Palo Alto
- Similar OT networking platforms
- Understanding of OT/ICS environments, including SCADA and control system architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with OT cybersecurity frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443 or NIST.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols including:
- Modbus
- DNP3
- OPC
- EtherNet/IP
- Profinet
- Previous experience supporting mining, heavy industry, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent.
- Exposure to cloud-connected OT architectures and remote operations environments.
