Commercial Manager

Northern Star Surface Mining (NSSM) is the newly established surface mining division of Northern Star Resources.

As we continue to build our in-house mining capability, we're looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join our Corporate Office in Subiaco. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity where you'll play a key role in shaping the commercial and financial performance of our surface mining operations.

Reporting to the Group Manager Finance – Mining Services, you will lead commercial finance activities that support operational excellence and strategic decision-making.

You'll work closely with operational leaders to deliver financial insights, improve commercial processes, and drive business performance across our mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting across surface mining operations.
• Deliver commercial analysis and financial insights to support operational decision-making.
• Manage cost control, contract administration and commercial compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting and business processes.
• Develop and enhance KPI reporting using Power BI and other business intelligence tools.
• Lead ERP and financial system improvements across multiple sites.
• Mentor and develop Business Analysts while supporting the broader commercial finance team.
• Identify opportunities to improve business performance and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.

About you

You'll be a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations and influencing business outcomes. To be successful you will need:

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance).
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
