About the Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical equipment to ensure plant and machinery operate safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
  • Installing and commissioning mechanical equipment.
  • Maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and other plant equipment.
  • Fault finding on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Inspecting machinery and replacing worn or damaged components.
  • Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components are correctly fitted.
  • Completing maintenance reports and following workplace procedures.
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment while complying with all WHS requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in mining, manufacturing, industrial or processing environments.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience maintaining rotating equipment, pumps and conveyors will be highly regarded.
  • Welding experience (MIG, TIG or ARC) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Current Driver's Licence (preferred).
