DERMS SME / Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement DERMS strategies, target architectures, and transformation roadmaps to support distributed energy integration and grid modernization initiatives.
• Lead the design, assessment, and implementation of DERMS solutions, including DER orchestration for solar PV, BESS, EVs, demand response, microgrids, and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs).
• Design integration architectures between DERMS and utility systems such as ADMS, SCADA, EMS, GIS, AMI, OMS, market platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Provide technical leadership through platform assessments, vendor evaluations, solution architecture, governance, stakeholder advisory, and executive-level consulting.
• Support business development activities including RFP responses, business case preparation, regulatory compliance, presales solutioning, and thought leadership for utility transformation programs.

Skills Required

• 15+ years of experience in Utility Distribution, Grid Modernization, DERMS, Energy Transition, and OT/IT Solution Architecture.
• Strong expertise in DERMS platforms (GE GridOS, Schneider Electric, Siemens Grid Software, Oracle DERMS, AutoGrid, Smarter Grid Solutions, or equivalent) and distributed energy resource integration.
• Hands-on experience integrating DERMS with ADMS, SCADA, EMS, GIS, AMI, OMS, forecasting platforms, enterprise systems, and cloud-native technologies.
• Deep understanding of DER communication protocols and standards including IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR, IEC 61850, IEC CIM, DNP3, MQTT, along with VPPs, flexibility markets, and grid-edge technologies.
