About The Role
The Market Management Prudentials team’s primary functions are to ensure market participants meet their prudential obligations in accordance with the National Electricity Rules and National Gas Rules (Rules), monitor the financial position of all market participants in the east coast gas markets and National Electricity Market, and execute clearing of these markets in line with the relevant Rules.
You will use your analytical skills and operational knowledge to conduct complex operational processes using AEMO’s market systems in compliance with relevant regulations, rules and procedures and use sophisticated analytical skills to contribute to ongoing market enhancement and process improvement projects activities. You’ll provide high quality stakeholder support and establish excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a 10-month fixed term contract that can be based at multiple locations.
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform assigned daily, weekly and monthly operational functions in compliance with the Rules, procedures, internal processes, within defined deadlines
- Identify and undertake root cause analysis in relation to compliance and technical issues and report results to the manager.
- Identify, report, assess and manage technical and operational issues and risks, and implement identified solutions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, provide high quality support and respond to detailed market queries.
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Degree in economics, computing, commerce, engineering, science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience operating in compliance with technical documents and/or legal instruments, such as rules and regulations. Such as any legal background, audit, compliance.
- Passion for the Energy sector, ideally with an understanding of its key issues. Experience in the Financial Services sector will also be highly regarded.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong operational relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders, including market participants and AEMO staff.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high quality written reports and deliver effective presentations which communicate technical concepts or complex data analysis to informed audiences.
