About the Role

We are partnering with a major Australian Bank to support their critical technology initiatives. In this role, you will be at the forefront of quality assurance, ensuring that complex, high-impact core banking systems run flawlessly. You will bridge the gap between business and technology, solving intricate problems within both mainframe and distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Testing: Drive System Testing (ST) and System Integration Testing (SIT), translating business requirements into comprehensive test cases and managing all necessary test data.
  • Execution & Validation: Perform rigorous manual progression and regression testing. You’ll validate seamless interactions between mainframe and distributed systems, diving into batch processes, DB2 queries, and JCL workflows.
  • Defect Management: Actively hunt down bugs, analyze test results, and collaborate closely with development teams to ensure swift and effective resolutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between tech teams and business units, keeping project managers updated on testing progress, potential risks, and quality metrics.
  • Quality Governance: Maintain pristine documentation, including test plans, execution logs, and defect reports.

What We Are Looking For

  • Core Experience: 5+ years of Mainframe testing in Core Banking, with a strong focus on Lending (Loans, Deposits, CIS, or Umbrella).
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of JCL, DB2, batch processing, online transactions, and manual testing methodologies (ST & SIT).
  • Professional Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a highly organized, self-motivated work ethic.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Nice-to-Have: Hogan Core Banking experience, as well as exposure to automation or performance testing.
