About The Opportunity

We are looking for a practical, reliable person who enjoys technology and hands-on work. This is an ideal entry-level opportunity for a recent school leaver, university or TAFE student, or someone wanting to build a career in electronics, GPS and live-event technology. No previous racing experience is required, and full training will be provided.

What you will do

  • Attend race meetings and help set up, monitor, troubleshoot and pack down equipment.
  • Assist with equipment assembly and basic repairs, including soldering, batteries, cables and connectors.
  • Support maintenance and installations at racecourses in Sydney and interstate travel including longer trips away from home when required.
  • Keep equipment, stock and service records organised and up to date.

What we are looking for

  • Valid Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • A genuine interest in technology, electronics (typically 12V and 24V; no high voltage/mains work in this role) and hands-on problem solving.
  • Reliable, willing to learn and comfortable working as part of a small team.
  • Calm under pressure, in a live event environment.
  • Clear verbal & written communication skills.
  • Available Tuesday to Saturday, plus flexibility for early starts, late finishes and public holidays.
  • A valid Australian driver licence and willingness to travel when required in a company provided vehicle.

Nice to have (not required)

  • Experience with GPS, RF, telemetry or wireless devices.
  • Soldering or small-scale electronics rework.
  • EWP ticket or Work Safely at Heights certification.
  • Basic networking awareness (routers, switches, cabling).
  • Previous experience in racing or another live operational industry.

What we offer

  • Flexible part-time or full-time employment to suit the right person.
  • Practical, on-the-job training in GPS, telemetry, timing and race-day systems.
  • Varied work across the workshop, racecourses and live sporting events.
  • An opportunity to develop valuable technical skills and grow with the business.

School leavers and students are strongly encouraged to apply.
