Role Description

We are seeking two Family Law Solicitors (4-6 PAE) to join our team.

The successful candidates will work on-site from our newly renovated office located in Bolton St, Newcastle, NSW (just around the corner from the stunning Newcastle Beach).

Each candidate will be working within a smaller team made up of 3-4 staff (including a senior solicitor/ accredited specialist, junior solicitor, and paralegal) and will report directly to their senior solicitor / team leader.

The Successful Candidates Will

  • be capable of providing advice and representation in a broad range of family law matters, holding day to day carriage of matters from initial intake through to settlement / hearing.
  • have a strong knowledge of alternative dispute resolution methods, and approach their work in a collaborative and colleagiate manner, in line with the values of our firm.
  • be able to organise their work schedule to ensure matters are undertaken diligently, and key performance metrics are met.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Family Law, including at least 4-6 years post-admission experience (PAE) managing a broad range of family law matters.
  • demonstrated experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and court advocacy.
  • Current NSW practising certificate, or eligibility to obtain one, and admission as a solicitor in Australia.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise competing deadlines, and work effectively within an on-site team environment.
