About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to support the delivery of a major Defence capability program based in Canberra.

Working across engineering, project and commercial teams, you'll provide engineering leadership, oversee governance activities and ensure engineering outcomes are delivered in line with Defence frameworks and project requirements.

The Role

As the Engineering Lead, you'll be responsible for engineering planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and contract support throughout the project lifecycle. You'll work closely with senior Defence stakeholders while helping drive successful engineering outcomes across a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering advice and support to senior Defence stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain Engineering Management Plans and supporting artefacts.
• Support engineering planning, resource management and reporting.
• Contribute to tender evaluations, contract negotiations and procurement activities.
• Support engineering workshops, system reviews and contract execution.
• Identify and manage engineering risks, issues and opportunities.
• Coordinate engineering change and configuration management activities.
• Prepare briefing packs, decision briefs and engineering documentation.
• Engage with engineering, project management, commercial and capability teams.
• Mentor and support ADF and APS engineering managers.

You'll bring

• Experience leading engineering activities within Defence or a complex engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of Engineering Management Plans (EMPs), WBS and Defence engineering governance.
• Experience supporting procurement, contract delivery and engineering reviews.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• The ability to manage engineering risks, change and project priorities.

Requirements

• Current TSPV Security Clearance (essential).
• Australian Citizenship.
• Ability to work onsite in Canberra.
