Road Maintenance Worker - Pathways & Drainage

  • Permanent, Full-Time Position working a 9-day fortnight
  • Band 3 plus allowances $35.19 - $37.28 per hour + super

About The Role

The position of Road Maintenance Worker is responsible for delivery of services as directed by the Supervisor for the maintenance of the City’s Road and footpath infrastructure assets with a particular emphasis on drainage and footpath maintenance.

This includes;

  • Concreting
  • Asphalt footpath repair
  • DDA installation
  • Drainage maintenance
  • Traffic Management set up and monitoring, ensure daily records are accurately maintained
  • Present City to the highest standards
  • Leave worksites neat and tidy and safe for public use
  • Maintaining high-quality public relations in all dealings with the general public, ratepayers, developers, contractors, suppliers, government authorities, other team members and City of Ballarat Staff
  • Carry out regular checks of various plant and equipment items complete any adjustments and minor maintenance to ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and operational condition

About You

You are a reliable and safety-focused team player with experience in road maintenance, construction, civil works, or a related field. You take pride in delivering high-quality work and have a strong commitment to workplace safety, customer service, and maintaining public infrastructure.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in road maintenance, asphalt, concreting, spray sealing, or general civil construction.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and a commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.
  • The ability to operate plant and equipment relevant to road maintenance activities.
  • A current Victorian Driver Licence (MR/HR Licence desirable).
  • Traffic Management accreditation (desirable).
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills, including the ability to use applications for work orders, inspections, timesheets and communication.
  • The ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward serving the community.
