Senior Veterinarian - Greencross Palm Beach

Greencross Pet Wellness Company

Company Description

Located on the southern Gold Coast, just minutes from the beach, local cafés and the relaxed Palm Beach village, Greencross Palm Beach is a busy and well-regarded clinic with a stable, collaborative team of vets and nurses.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Veterinarian who enjoys high-quality general practice, values teamwork and would like to have a meaningful influence within their clinic.

You may be ready to take on a leadership role now, interested in gradually developing your leadership skills, or simply looking for a senior clinical position where your experience will be recognised. We are open to shaping the opportunity around the right person.

If leadership is something you would like to explore, you will be supported to step into it gradually, with guidance from our Regional Clinical Director and experienced Veterinary Directors across the Gold Coast.

Take a quick walk through our Palm Beach clinic and meet the team and space you could be joining.

What makes Palm Beach different

This is a clinic where high clinical standards are part of everyday practice. Our team cares deeply about doing things well, supporting one another and creating an environment where good medicine can thrive.

You will join a settled and capable team that enjoys working together and values evidence-based medicine, thoughtful communication and practical support on busy days.

Our purpose-built clinic is equipped to support a varied caseload across consultations, diagnostics, dentistry and surgery, including:

  • Ultrasound and digital X-ray
  • IM3 dental unit and dental X-ray
  • In-house laboratory
  • Dedicated sterile theatre

The opportunity

As a Senior Veterinarian, you will play an important role in the clinical strength of the clinic while continuing to enjoy hands-on consulting and surgery.

Depending on your interests, you may also have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced team members, contribute to clinical decision-making and help shape how the clinic operates.

Your role could include

  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care
  • Managing a varied medical and surgical caseload
  • Supporting collaborative case discussions and knowledge sharing
  • Mentoring other vets and nurses where appropriate
  • Contributing ideas to improve clinical workflows and the client experience
  • Building trusted relationships with clients in the Palm Beach community
  • Exploring a supported pathway into clinic leadership, if and when it feels right for you

This is not a role where you will be expected to step into leadership without support. If you choose to progress towards a Veterinary Director position, we will work with you to build your confidence and capability at a sustainable pace.

Who will thrive here

You may be a great fit if you are an experienced veterinarian who:

  • Takes pride in delivering thoughtful, high-quality medicine
  • Communicates clearly and works well within a collaborative team
  • Remains calm and organised in a busy clinical environment
  • Enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
  • Wants greater influence without necessarily committing to formal leadership immediately
  • Is curious about leadership but wants the right support, development and timing

Palm Beach is a busy clinic with a strong pace, so this opportunity will suit someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and being part of an engaged clinical environment.

What we offer

We want your next move to feel supported, rewarding and sustainable. Our benefits include:

  • A competitive salary package aligned with your experience and responsibilities
  • 12% superannuation in addition to your base salary
  • Four weeks of annual leave, with the option to convert continuing education leave into additional annual leave
  • Six weeks of paid parental leave at full pay, or 12 weeks at half pay, with flexible return-to-work options
  • An industry-leading internal continuing education program
  • All-inclusive attendance at our annual veterinary clinical conference
  • Scholarship opportunities for Membership examinations
  • Paid AVA membership or annual veterinary registration
  • Access to the Lincoln Institute’s Leading Edge for Veterinarians, a fully funded 12-month leadership program valued at $9,000, if leadership is part of your career goals
  • Ongoing support from our Regional Clinical Director and experienced Veterinary Directors across the region
  • A dedicated “Welcome to Australia” module for international veterinarians transitioning into Australian practice
  • Discounts across Greencross Vets, the Animal Referral and Emergency Network and Petbarn

What you’ll need

  • A BVSc, DVM or equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility for full veterinary registration in Queensland
  • Approximately five or more years of clinical experience
  • Strong clinical, communication and teamwork skills

Previous leadership experience is welcome but not essential. We are equally interested in experienced veterinarians who are beginning to consider leadership and would like support to explore that next step.
