Casual Physiotherapists with weekend availability to join our multidisciplinary team.

In this role, you will provide clinical physiotherapy services using evidence-based practices, ensuring adherence to the Australian Physiotherapy Association Code of Conduct and SJGHC policies and guidelines.

Our hospital offers a comprehensive range of physiotherapy services to inpatients, including acute medical care, palliative care, and pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation. As a Grade 1 Physiotherapist, you will benefit from strong mentoring, peer support, and clear pathways for professional development, enabling you to grow and excel within your career.

Casual Hours are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The Position

  • Provide high quality evidence based physiotherapy assessments and treatments for all patients/clients, including the provision of hydrotherapy treatments where applicable.
  • Using patient-centered care work with the patient to develop appropriate physiotherapy treatment goals and plans for all patients/clients.
  • Ensure that direct working relationships are established and maintained with multi-disciplinary colleagues and internal/external customers including active participation in the multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Use of Evidence Based Patient treatment outcome measures and use of patient feedback satisfaction measures and quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in the physiotherapy department weekend roster if required.
  • Assist with education and training programs for students as requested.
  • Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
  • Attend staff meetings and present at professional development sessions as required.
  • Delegate to other staff members where appropriate e.g. Allied Health Assistants, or students.
  • Liaise with other staff and educate staff about patient/client care.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, their families, staff and external health professionals and agencies to ensure quality patient management.
  • Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Satisfactory completion of all annual mandatory and unit based competencies as required.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise. Maintenance of own continuing professional development portfolio as required.

The successful candidate will hold current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA) and have experience delivering physiotherapy services within relevant clinical settings, including hydrotherapy treatments.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
