About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Surveyor to join our team on a FIFO basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work on a major mining project, providing accurate survey data and supporting safe and efficient site operations.
As a Senior Surveyor, you will play a key role in planning and executing survey activities, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Survey team, including mentoring of graduate and junior surveyors
Manage UAV operations as Senior Remote Pilot, including equipment, compliance, and data processing
Manage end-of-month surveys, volume calculations, and stockpile reconciliation for accurate production and financial reporting.
Carry out and oversee mine and engineering survey activities
Set out and validate mining, civil, and infrastructure works
Produce accurate survey plans, reports, and as-built documentation, including heritage, infrastructure, and subsurface utility layers (cables, pipes, and services)
Ensure compliance with site procedures, statutory requirements, and surveying standards
Maintain and calibrate survey equipment
Provide expert technical advice and support to mining operations and project stakeholders
Champion safety leadership through Visible Felt Leadership and drive continuous improvement in open-cut survey operations and team performance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Bachelor of Surveying (or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification)
Minimum 8 years’ open-cut mining experience, including previous experience as a Senior Surveyor
Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC), plus experience with modern survey equipment including Leica, Trimble, or Topcon GPS and total stations, and UAV/drone surveying
Proficiency in survey software such as Vulcan, PointStudio, Pix4D, Global Mapper, or similar
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
A current Australian driver's licence
The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
Desirable

Mine Surveyor's Authorisation (where applicable)
Experience with drone/UAV surveying
Experience in open-cut or underground mining environments
