Our client is a well-established international manufacturer delivering engineered electrical infrastructure solutions to some of the world's largest utility, renewable energy and industrial organisations. With significant investment in the Australian market, they are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth and develop key customer relationships.

The Role

The Role:Reporting into senior leadership, you'll take ownership of business development across Australia, identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships and managing complex sales opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award.

Working with some of Australia's largest infrastructure owners, EPC contractors and renewable energy developers, you'll play a key role in securing major projects and expanding market presence.

The Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across the utility, renewable energy, mining and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with senior decision-makers, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Manage complex sales cycles from opportunity identification through to negotiation and contract award.
  • Track major infrastructure projects and position the business for future tender opportunities.
  • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to develop tailored customer solutions.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movements and industry trends to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasting and maintain a healthy pipeline of strategic opportunities.

The Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within electrical infrastructure, power systems, transformers
  • Strong relationships across utilities, EPC contractors, renewable energy developers or major industrial customers.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles, large tenders and high-value commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent commercial, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to work autonomously.
  • An engineering qualification will be highly regarded but is not essential.
