Vice President – Asset Management | Real Estate

We are partnering with a leading global institutional investor to appoint a Vice President within its Australia & New Zealand Real Estate team.

This is a rare opportunity to join one of the world's most sophisticated real estate investment platforms, working across a high-quality portfolio of direct investments spanning both traditional and alternative sectors.

The mandate is centered on value creation rather than traditional portfolio stewardship. Working closely with investment professionals, operating partners and management teams, you will help shape strategy, drive transformation initiatives and enhance performance across a diversified portfolio of investments.

This role will suit someone who combines strong commercial and financial capability with a hands-on approach to improving business performance and delivering long-term investment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diversified portfolio of direct real estate investments across Australia and New Zealand, partnering with operating businesses, joint venture partners and external managers to maximise asset performance.
• Build strong relationships with management teams and key stakeholders, providing strategic oversight and representing shareholder interests through effective governance and active engagement.
• Evaluate, develop and challenge business plans across operating, leasing, development, capital expenditure, financing and ESG initiatives, ensuring disciplined execution against agreed objectives.
• Identify and deliver value creation initiatives, including operational improvement, revenue optimisation, business transformation, capital investment and other strategic opportunities that enhance long-term investment performance.
• Work alongside investment colleagues and operating partners to assess strategic opportunities throughout the asset lifecycle, including repositioning initiatives, capital deployment and portfolio optimisation.
• Support asset divestments and capital recycling initiatives, helping maximise value through disciplined execution.
• Oversee portfolio reporting, budgeting, business planning and valuation processes, ensuring robust financial analysis and performance monitoring.
• Maintain strong governance, risk management and compliance standards across the portfolio while supporting corporate actions where required.
• Monitor market dynamics and emerging industry trends, translating insights into practical strategies that strengthen portfolio performance.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in individuals who combine institutional investment discipline with strong commercial judgement and a proven ability to drive value creation.

You are likely to bring

• Approximately ~12+ years' experience in institutional real estate, private equity real estate, real estate funds or a comparable investment environment.
• A demonstrated track record of partnering with operating businesses or management teams to improve performance, execute strategic initiatives and create measurable value.
• Experience across a range of real estate sectors is welcomed; however, the ability to identify opportunities, lead change and deliver investment outcomes is considered more important than any particular asset class background.
• Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to assess business performance and translate investment strategies into actionable business plans.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing complex relationships across joint ventures, operating partners and service providers.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage effectively with executives, boards and investment committees.
• A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to operate independently in a high-performing investment environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
