Do you have what it takes to become an Analytics Engineer?

At Smartgroup, we're investing in our Enterprise Data Platform and expanding our capability to deliver scalable, trusted data products across the business.

We're looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our Enterprise Data team and help transform complex data into accessible, high-value insights. Working at the intersection of data engineering, analytics and stakeholder engagement, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining data products that support critical business decisions.

You'll work with modern technologies including Databricks, leverage SQL and Python and partner closely with business stakeholders, data engineers and data scientists to deliver solutions that create measurable value.

What you'll do

  • Design, build and enhance scalable data products for use in semantic layers, reports and dashboards
  • Develop and maintain analytics-ready datasets using best-practice data modelling and transformation techniques
  • Use Databricks, SQL and Python to build reliable, high-quality data solutions
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical, value-driven outcomes
  • Drive data quality, code management and documentation standards across data assets and products
  • Contribute to the evolution of Smartgroup's modern data platform, self-service analytics capability and data-driven culture

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years' experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer or similar data-focused role
  • Strong hands-on experience working with Databricks and/or Snowflake, preferably using a medallion architecture
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience building scalable data models and transformations
  • Strong Python programming skills for data processing, automation and analytics
  • Ability to interpret business requirements to model and build scalable, robust data products
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for data quality, continuous improvement and delivering business value through data
