Project Manager - Design

Our Client

Our client is an established private property developer with a significant pipeline of residential and mixed-use developments across Melbourne.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Project Manager – Design role with a strong background in design to join their Project Management team. This role will focus on design management and project delivery, working across major apartment developments from design through to completion.

This opportunity will suit someone with formal qualifications in Architecture and Design, or a Project Manager who has developed a strong capability in design management and quality assurance processes. You'll have a thorough understanding of design documentation, consultant coordination and design quality, together with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional developments.

The Role

Working within a collaborative Project Management team, you will play a key role throughout the design and delivery process, ensuring projects achieve the highest standards of quality, coordination and design outcomes.

Working closely with Senior Project Managers, Development Managers, consultants and contractors, you will support projects from design development through construction and completion.

• Managing design coordination throughout project delivery.
• Reviewing consultant documentation to ensure coordination, buildability and design quality.
• Coordinating the design and delivery of purchaser changes and customisations.
• Leading quality assurance activities including prototype, material and sample reviews.
• Monitoring construction quality through regular site inspections.
• Coordinating consultants, contractors and key project stakeholders.
• Participating in project meetings and supporting project reporting.
• Assisting with project completion, defect management and handover activities.

About You

This role will suit a technically strong Candidate with experience in residential within either a client-side, consulting, architectural or contractor environment. Most importantly, you will bring a strong understanding of design and experience managing the design process from concept through to construction.
