Biology Researcher (Masters/PhDs)

Alignerr

Biology Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your years of graduate-level biology training could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for Biology Experts to help build and refine cutting-edge AI models — designing advanced problems, evaluating scientific reasoning, and ensuring AI gets the biology right.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and scientists who want to contribute to something beyond the lab. No prior AI experience needed — just deep domain expertise and a sharp scientific mind.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design challenging, nuanced problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated biological reasoning for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance model performance
  • Ensure all deliverables meet rigorous standards of scientific rigor and precision
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in one or more of: genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
  • Comfortable working with Python or R for research or data analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you can explain complex science clearly
  • Detail-oriented and methodical, with a strong commitment to scientific accuracy
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
  • Background in AI, machine learning, or computational biology
  • Experience writing or reviewing scientific literature, grant proposals, or technical documentation
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics pipelines, genomics tools, or wet lab methodologies
