Senior Planner

Consilium Solutions is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support our mining clients across major sustaining capital, brownfield, and greenfield projects. This role will focus on execution planning, providing critical planning expertise from project development through to execution readiness and delivery.

Working closely with client project teams, engineering disciplines, and senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, supporting execution strategies, identifying schedule risks, and providing planning insights that drive successful project outcomes.

About the Role

As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in execution planning and project delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and optimise integrated project schedules across mining and resource sector projects.
  • Prepare execution-level schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
  • Develop detailed Level 3 and Level 4 schedules to support project execution and delivery.
  • Support execution strategy development, including sequencing, work packaging, resource planning and critical path analysis.
  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and evaluate opportunities to improve project delivery outcomes.
  • Analyse project performance, progress, constraints and schedule impacts, providing recommendations for recovery where required.
  • Facilitate planning workshops with project teams and stakeholders to align execution strategies and project priorities.
  • Provide planning support throughout project lifecycles, including studies, pre-execution, execution and close-out phases.
  • Produce high-quality planning reports, dashboards and presentations for project teams, management and clients.
  • Mentor junior planners and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and systems.
  • Support multiple client projects simultaneously, providing planning expertise across a range of commodities and project types.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.

Required Skills

  • Extensive planning experience within the mining, resources, infrastructure or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong background in project execution planning and project controls.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting major mining projects through engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 skills, including schedule development, critical path analysis and progress measurement.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, work packaging and execution strategies.
  • Experience facilitating planning workshops and engaging with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify schedule risks, develop mitigation strategies and support recovery planning.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to high-performing project teams.
