We seek experienced and reliable applicants for a Trade Assistant role based in East Arm NT. The trade assistant is responsible for assisting the fitters and engineers in the construction of purpose-built vessels used in our Pearling Operations.
The position is available on a 6 month casual contract with opportunity to extend for the right candidate, offering a unique entry-level opportunity within the Marine Engineering Industry.
This role includes responsibility for:
- Site Preparation: Setting up and cleaning workspaces
- Tool and Equipment Handling: Transporting materials, cleaning tools, and operating equipment.
- Safety Duties: Monitoring workspaces for hazards and complying with strict OH&S standards.
- General Assistance: Holding components, taking measurements, and executing servicing and overhauling of pearling equipment as directed.
- Other duties as directed by the Pearl Farm Engineering Manager and Re-fit Coordinator.
Desired Skills And Experience
The successful candidates must:
- Have reliable transport to TDZ, East Arm NT and hold a current driver’s license
- Hold a White Card (General Construction Induction Training card)
- Have Australian Citizenship or Residency with full work rights
Applicants with previous construction experience, forklift license and first aid qualification will be highly regarded.
