The Tasman is a unique combination of Modern Contemporary, Art Deco and Heritage architecture. Presenting 152 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites with carefully restored features and adorned with exclusive art pieces from local artists, The Tasman reflects the true spirit of the destination.
Our Porters/Valet are responsible for providing first impressions, are proactive, welcoming and true professionals at delighting and wowing our guests. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow and advance your career opening Australia’s first Luxury Collection Hotel. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome, assist, and escort guests on arrival and departure.
- Handle guest luggage and transportation requests.
- Provide local information and personalized guest service.
- Deliver amenities and in-room dining orders to guest rooms.
- Valet park guest vehicles.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the hotel entrance and driveway.
- Follow safety, security, and emergency procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other hotel departments.
- Safely lift and move luggage and other items (up to 25 kg independently, heavier items with assistance).
- Uphold Marriott and The Tasman's luxury service standards.
Requirements
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, public holidays, early mornings, evenings, and occasional overnight shifts.
- Valid manual driver's licence (required).
- Tasmanian RSA (required before starting).
- Full Australian working rights.
- Previous hospitality or similar experience is preferred but not essential.
