About The Opportunity
This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside people, families and the wider community to strengthen social inclusion, build meaningful connections and support positive mental health and wellbeing.
As our Community Engagement and Inclusion Worker, you will spend your time both out in the community and alongside people accessing the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local. You will support individuals to reconnect with their interests, participate in community life and build natural supports that continue beyond their time with the service. At the same time, you will develop strong relationships with local organisations, community groups and services, creating opportunities for collaboration and making it easier for people to access the supports that are right for them.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people feel a sense of belonging. Through community engagement, capacity building and practical support, you will help strengthen connections between people and their communities while ensuring lived and living experience continues to shape the work we do.

About You
You are someone who enjoys building relationships and bringing people together. You understand the value of community, inclusion and genuine connection and you are motivated by seeing people develop confidence, independence and a stronger sense of belonging. Whether your experience comes from community development, mental health, community services or a related field, you bring a person centred approach, confidence working with people from diverse backgrounds and the ability to build collaborative partnerships that make a lasting difference.
You will also bring:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Social Science, Community Services, Mental Health, Community Development or a related field, or equivalent
- Experience in the human services or related sector, including individual and community development work
- A commitment to person-centred practice and an understanding of mental health recovery and evidence-based practice that supports people to sustain and enhance their social and emotional wellbeing and identity
- Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining partnerships with communities and a broad range of services
- Right to Work within Australia
- Full driver licence and ability to undertake travel
- Satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module – ‘Quality Safety and You’ (free online course)
About The Mental Health And Wellbeing Local
Working together in Mildura, Wellways, Mildura Base Public Hospital, Mallee District Aboriginal Services, and Sunraysia Community Health Services are offering easier access to care and support closer to home for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health concerns – including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug support and care needs and their family, carers, and supporters.
