RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
As an R&D Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in developing and testing new products, materials and manufacturing processes. Working within our Research & Development team, you'll be involved in laboratory and field testing, prototype development and continuous improvement initiatives that help bring innovative solutions to life.
About The Role
- Full Time – Monday to Friday
- Assist with the development and investigation of new prototypes, products and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement suitable testing methods for a range of materials and prototype products.
- Conduct laboratory and field testing, including sample preparation, test setup, execution and disposal of test materials.
- Record, analyse and report test results to support product development and continuous improvement.
- Operate testing equipment safely, ensuring all laboratory equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Handle and work with chemicals in accordance with company procedures, safety requirements and relevant standards.
- Assist with the preparation, review and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
About You
- Certificate III in Laboratory skills or relevant experience
- Forklift licence (or willing to obtain one)
- C Class Driver Licence (prefer manual)
- Understand polymers and FRP products (preferable)
- Ability to read and interpret test standards and methodologies
- Hands on experience when it comes to modifying and fabricating simple test fixtures
- High attention to detail with a practical mindset
- Experience using a variety of software packages, including laboratory test software
- Must be able to pass all satisfactory pre-employment checks – including Medical + Drug & Alcohol & Police Check & provide work related references
