About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll play a vital role in coordinating facilities, resources and operational support across our education campuses. From managing learning spaces and coordinating maintenance to supporting office operations and student events, you'll help create an environment where students can thrive and our teams can deliver outstanding education.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines facilities coordination, administration and customer service. If you enjoy solving problems, building relationships and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, we'd love to hear from you.

Salary range: $78,888 - $87,731 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing

As our Facilities Support Officer, you'll help create safe, professional and engaging learning environments by:

Coordinating the day-to-day operation of facilities across Mater Education campuses, ensuring classrooms, learning spaces and AV/IT resources are maintained and ready for use.

    Managing room bookings, facilities maintenance requests, asset management and space utilisation to support efficient campus operations. Coordinating procurement, inventory and maintenance of equipment, office supplies and computer hardware. Providing responsive operational support to staff, students and stakeholders while coordinating internal and external service providers.
  • Investigating facilities issues, identifying practical solutions and escalating matters where required.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facilities, sustainability and operational efficiency. Providing Level 1 Microsoft Office and AV support, triaging issues and coordinating further technical assistance when needed. Assisting with student-facing events including orientations, open days, graduations and other operational activities.
  • Supporting out-of-hours or offsite operational requirements when required.

About you

You're someone who takes pride in creating organised, well-maintained environments where others can do their best work. You're proactive, adaptable and enjoy balancing a variety of operational responsibilities while delivering outstanding customer service.

You'll also bring:

Experience in a facilities, administration or operational support role, ideally across multiple sites.

    A strong customer service focus with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues and implement practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and collaboration tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams. Experience supporting facilities, office administration or operational functions.
  • Basic IT and AV troubleshooting skills, with the ability to triage and escalate issues appropriately.

Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), education or training environment.

    Experience using facilities management or maintenance systems such as BEIMS. Experience supporting multiple sites or campuses.
  • Qualifications in business administration, customer service or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
