We're hiring: HEAD OF DIGITAL & TECHNOLOGY
The Head of Digital & Technology will lead the development and execution of ClarkeHopkinsClarke’s technology strategy, ensuring our systems, tools and platforms enable how we design, deliver and grow.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping a cohesive, scalable and commercially aligned technology environment. The role blends strategic direction with practical delivery, establishing clear foundations while driving meaningful improvements across the business.
Working closely with the co-managing Director, Partners and internal teams, you will bring structure, clarity and momentum to our technology landscape, connecting systems, improving workflows, and embedding emerging capabilities such as AI and automation.
You will also oversee external vendors and partners, ensuring our technology investments deliver real business value.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Direction
- Define and lead a clear, practical technology strategy aligned to business priorities
- Translate business needs into an actionable roadmap across systems, data and platforms
- Establish governance, standards and decision-making frameworks
Systems & Integration
- Assess current systems and identify gaps, inefficiencies and duplication
- Improve how platforms connect across the practise (design, operations, finance, HR)
- Lead the integration of core systems to enable better data flow and reporting
Design & Practice Technology
- Strengthen the use and adoption of design technology across studios (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane)
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and consistency in design delivery
- Partner with studio leaders to embed better workflows and tools
AI, Automation & Innovation
- Identify and implement opportunities to embed AI and automation into daily workflows
- Pilot, test and scale new tools that improve productivity or create new capability
- Drive a practical, outcomes-focused approach to innovation
Operational Technology & IT Management
- Oversee the Microsoft environment, infrastructure and core IT services
- Work with MSPs and vendors to ensure reliable, high-performing systems
- Provide oversight and direction to the Technical Support Coordinator, ensuring effective and responsive day to-day IT support across the practice.
Data, Insights & Reporting
- Improve access to accurate, real-time business data • Support leadership decision-making through better reporting and insights
- Build a more structured and consistent approach to data management
Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage key technology vendors and service providers
- Ensure services align to practise needs and deliver measurable value
- Lead contract reviews, vendor performance management and improvements
Capability Building & Change
- Build internal capability across digital, data and systems use
- Support adoption of new tools and ways of working
- Act as a trusted advisor across the practise, translating technology into practical outcomes
Key Requirements / Experience
- Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role (e.g. Head of Technology, IT Lead, Digital Lead)
- Strong background in technology strategy, systems integration or digital transformation
- Experience working within mid-sized, evolving environments where structure is being built
- Hands-on capability across business systems, with the ability to drive practical outcomes
- Experience managing MSPs and external technology vendors
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem (M365, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot)
- Experience with cloud technologies, cybersecurity basics, and modern workplace tools
- Exposure to design or professional services environments (desirable)

Experience in an architecture, design, or creative practice is highly regarded, as is familiarity with tools such as Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365, or device management platforms.
