Operations Manager
Behind every brand that scales is an operation that makes it look effortless.
Hommey has grown fast, and the operation that gets our product from production to customer has had to grow with it. We're hiring an Operations Manager to take ownership of that operation and build it as we scale.
Founded in 2021, Hommey set out to prove that an aspirational home shouldn't have to cost a fortune. A few years on, we're an omni-channel homewares and lifestyle brand across Australia and the US, and we've built the brand that proves it: helping people create a home that feels completely theirs, without compromise.
The Role
Reporting to our COO and leading the operations team, you own the day-to-day engine that keeps product moving across every channel and market. You'll work directly with our 3PL, freight, and delivery partners to drive the standards and outcomes we need, keep inventory and fulfilment data reliable across our systems, and stay far enough ahead of the operation that problems are designed out before a customer feels them.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
- Owning day-to-day logistics performance across AU and US, from inbound freight through to last-mile delivery and returns
- Managing our 3PL, freight forwarder and carrier relationships, driving strong commercial outcomes and holding partners to the standards we set
- Owning the fulfilment and inventory flow across our systems stack (Shopify, Cin7, the 3PL WMS and Loop), and keeping operational data accurate and reliable
- Improving how the operation runs, using automation and technology to take friction out of our workflows as we scale
- Mentoring and developing the operations team, and setting the execution standard everyone works to
Who We're Looking For
You've run logistics and 3PL operations for an omni-channel brand, you hold partners to a commercial standard, and you're ready to take ownership of a function and build it as the business grows. You think commercially and operate with rigour, keeping contracts current and performance tracked, and dealing with underperformance rather than working around it. When something breaks, you go after the root cause rather than the symptom.
You'll be a strong fit if you:
- Have lead fulfilment, logistics and 3PL coordination for an omni-channel brand, ideally across more than one market (experience spanning AU and US is a strong plus)
- Bring real commercial acumen to partner relationships, from negotiation and SLA enforcement to cost benchmarking
- Are confident across an operational systems stack (ERP, ecommerce and 3PL platforms) and take ownership of data accuracy across it
- Have a genuine improvement mindset, always looking for ways to do things better through automation and technology
- Are ready to lead and develop a team, setting clear standards as it grows
Above all, you hold the standard without being told to, and you bring commercial judgement to every operational call you make. Everything downstream depends on the operation that you ultimately lead, so getting it right matters across the whole business.
Why Join Hommey?
- At Hommey, we're building more than a homewares brand. We're creating a movement defined by comfort, quality, and personalisation.
- You'll own operations from the start, with genuine scope to grow the function as the business continues to scale.
- We move quickly and give our people genuine room to own their work and make an impact.
- Five Comfort Days a year, on top of your standard leave.
- A flexible work culture is at the heart of what we do. We believe in flexibility and surrounding ourselves with passionate individuals who value creativity and teamwork.
