Your New Role

The Assistant Development Managers support project teams by coordinating financial reporting, procurement, stakeholder communication, and project administration across all phases of planning, design, documentation, and construction. These roles ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of housing development projects aligned with Development Victoria’s strategic objectives.

The two roles are both ongoing opportunities and work on a hybrid, flexible basis. You’ll balance your time between our head office in Melbourne CBD, site offices as required and the rest working from home.

Core Accountabilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, records, and reporting tools to support compliance, transparency, and effective decision-making.
  • Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders to support project alignment, approvals and delivery outcomes.
  • Assist in the coordination of planning and design documentation, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor project financials including budgets, forecasts and expenditure tracking, supporting commercial performance and reporting.
  • Support construction activities, including site maintenance and issue resolution on site.

About You

Desired Skills and Experience

You have a bachelor’s degree in a property development, construction, civil engineering or project management discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in property development and/or infrastructure delivery within either the public or private sector.
  • Familiarity with planning, design, masterplanning, and divestment processes is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and PDF-based programs such as Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Capable of preparing and delivering presentations and project updates as required.
  • Experience using electronic filing systems is desirable, though not mandatory.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex stakeholder environments, including coordination and liaison across multiple parties.
  • Exposure to financial feasibility analysis using tools such as EstateMaster, alongside experience in budgeting and cost monitoring.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and grammatically accurate documentation, correspondence and reports.
