Binnacle Training is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO), partnering with over 250 secondary schools through an expanding national network to deliver practical, industry-relevant vocational education. Established in 2006, we're proud to be celebrating 20 years in vocational education in schools, working alongside 800+ teachers to deliver custom-built Certificate courses across five key program areas: Sport & Recreation, Fitness, Business, Tourism, and First Aid.

We're entering an exciting new phase of our story. Binnacle has a strong foundation and significant potential for sustainable growth. Under the direction of our new CEO, we're rolling out our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, a clear roadmap for where we're headed, guided by three pillars:

To lead this next phase, we are seeking an exceptional General Manager – Commercial (GMC) - a strategic, commercially astute executive capable of architecting and driving a national growth agenda.

This appointment will shape Binnacle’s commercial direction, strengthen its partnership ecosystem, and build the capabilities required for scale. It is a role for a leader who can balance vision with disciplined execution, and who thrives in environments where purpose and performance intersect.

The Mandate

Reporting directly to the CEO, the GMC will hold enterprise‑level responsibility for:

  • Designing and executing Binnacle’s multi‑year national growth strategy.
  • Driving enrolment, revenue, and market expansion across Australia.
  • Leading strategic partnerships with schools, education departments, industry bodies, and community organisations.
  • Overseeing brand, marketing, digital engagement, and customer acquisition.
  • Guiding product innovation and new course development.
  • Embedding data‑driven decision‑making, CRM optimisation, and commercial analytics.
  • Building and leading a high‑performance commercial team.

This role is central to Binnacle’s evolution from a strong Queensland‑based RTO to a nationally scaled education organisation.

We are seeking a high‑calibre commercial executive with:

  • 10+ years’ senior commercial or growth leadership
  • Demonstrated success scaling products and/or services across multiple regions
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Experience in education, training, or regulated industries
  • Expertise in marketing, CRM, digital engagement, and analytics
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication capability
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence at executive level

Experience in RTO environments, national expansion, or school‑based programs will be highly regarded.

You are strategic, analytical, and forward‑thinking - yet grounded in values, purpose, and impact.
