Data Analyst - Portfolio

About the Client

INDEX is partnering with a private fin-tech organisation to support the advancement of portfolio data capabilities across superannuation and SMSF reporting.

The organisation is focused on delivering highly accurate, scalable data solutions that underpin portfolio accounting, performance insights and regulatory reporting within the financial services sector.

About the role

This role is tailored for a specialist Data Analyst with deep expertise in Class and strong domain knowledge across SMSF and superannuation data. You will shape how portfolio accounting data is integrated, validated and optimised, ensuring high‑quality reporting outcomes for financial advisers, accountants and their clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex portfolio data integration from Class or equivalent systems, including defining transformation logic, reconciliation frameworks and validation controls
• Act as the SME for SMSF and superannuation data, ensuring accurate representation of investment data, corporate actions, pricing and income processing
• Partner with product, engineering and operations teams to refine requirements, support UAT and deliver reliable, scalable data solutions
• Diagnose and resolve data issues through structured triage, root cause analysis and continuous improvement of data quality processes

Requirements

• Deep experience working with Class (or equivalent SMSF platforms), including integration, data mapping, transformations and reconciliations
• Strong domain expertise in SMSF and/or superannuation, with a clear understanding of portfolio accounting methodologies and reporting impacts
• Proven background in financial services technology environments, working with complex investment and portfolio data sets
• Technical capability in SQL or Python for data analysis, validation and troubleshooting, combined with strong stakeholder engagement skills

• You must be Melbourne based
• You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
