Technical Manager

Company

Global renewable energy owner operator that is well established in Australia with a 7GW+ development pipeline entering a significant growth phase. This business is well capitalised backed by a major global infrastructure investor, has established a highly capable Australian leadership team and has several projects to reach FID in the next 2 years.

Position

This is a senior individual contribution role with direct influence over key technical decisions and project outcomes from feasibility to tender and FID. You will look to capture technical risk in contracts and integrate this into optimising design, finalising performance guarantees and forming detailed cost assumptions for construction. The company has several projects entering the tender phase and you will lead design development with consultants through to tender ready documentation.

Ideal profile

• Civil Engineering degree
• Detailed understanding of costing for major construction packages
• Able to work in a flat structure with a fast decision-making culture where you will have real task ownership and regular interface with financial modelling and CAPEX assumptions (not siloed in a technical lane)
• Lead technical workstreams through tender phase and contractor selection for utility solar or BESS projects (construction experience highly desirable)
• Able to make decisions through the lens of operating a 30 year asset and capturing long term asset value and LCOE
