About the role

The Clinical Governance Partner fulfills a key leadership role, partnering with the Women & Children’s Program to effectively ensure delivery of clinical governance through incident management, support of continuous improvement targets and ensuring the program provides services which focus on patient quality and safety.

The Women & Children’s Program is based across multiple sites and has been involved in with over 4,000 births, 2500 gynaecology procedures, over 2000 paediatric admissions and more than 99,000 outpatients’ appointments in 2025.

The Clinical Governance Partner is part of the Clinical Governance Directorate which provides organisational support through alignment with specific programs and whilst also working alongside key stakeholders across programs.

About you

Knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Standards and Industry Standards and legislation

Current registration with AHPRA

Post Graduate qualifications in Midwifery highly desirable

Demonstrated ability to engage clinical leaders in patient safety initiatives

Experience in incident investigation and rootcause analaysis

The ability to work as part of a diverse team

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment. Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
