You will help develop and embed a proactive, intelligence-led risk management framework that enables the bank to achieve its goals safely and soundly.
As a leader in our Financial Crime Risk Department, you’ll make an impact by:
- Developing and implementing the strategic direction for financial crime risk management.
- Providing expert advice and effective challenge to the first line of accountability to uplift our overall financial crime risk management maturity.
- Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of dedicated risk professionals.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk identification.
About the Role
The Senior Manager Financial Crime Assurance reports to Head of Financial Crime Assurance.
- Shape and implement the strategic direction for financial crime risk management.
- Provide expert advice and effective challenge to uplift our financial crime risk maturity.
- Design and execute independent assurance testing for AML/CTF, Sanctions, and Fraud controls.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of dedicated financial crime risk professionals.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk identification.
- Oversee issue management and remediation, performing root cause analysis to ensure sustainable outcomes.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Experience establishing and managing assurance and assurance testing frameworks in a bank’s financial crime environment
- Proven track record in designing and executing independent financial crime assurance frameworks, testing control effectiveness, and validating sustainable remediation across AML/CTF, Sanctions, and Fraud.
- Experience in issue management, remediation oversight and root cause analysis.
- Regulatory relationship skills are an asset.
- Highly effective engagement and leadership skills with ability to aggressively lead and drive change at all levels.
- Able to navigate and deliver on business outcomes, while being comfortable with ambiguity.
- Demonstrated understanding of the interplay between people, process and systems.
- Preferred - Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
- Preferred - Financial Crime Industry qualification preferred such as ACAMS, AFCS.
Location: Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney, or Brisbane with flexible hybrid options.
