About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to influence commercial outcomes across one of Australia's largest manufacturing and renewable energy organisations.

Reporting to the Group Manager Procurement, you'll lead strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations and contract management activities that support major capital projects and engineering programs across the business. Working closely with Engineering and key operational stakeholders, you'll provide commercial expertise that delivers value for money, minimises risk and supports successful project delivery.

You'll influence procurement decisions from project planning through to supplier selection and contract execution while helping shape procurement strategies that strengthen supplier performance, governance and long-term business outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing, tendering and supplier selection across major capital projects and engineering services.
  • Develop and implement procurement and category strategies that deliver commercial value and minimise business risk.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing and commercial contracts to achieve best-value outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support project success.
  • Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance and procurement governance.
  • Analyse spend, identify cost-saving opportunities and provide commercial reporting and recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, supplier performance and category management.

About You

You are a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys building strong relationships, influencing business decisions and delivering strategic procurement outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative environment where your commercial expertise makes a genuine difference.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Finance, Law or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or commercial contract management.
  • Strong commercial negotiation, supplier relationship management and contract management experience.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, engineering procurement or complex commercial procurement activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes across all levels of the business.

Desirable

  • Professional accreditation such as CIPS or an equivalent professional body.
  • Experience within manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, heavy industry, utilities or renewable energy.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, procurement governance and risk management.
  • Experience implementing category management strategies and procurement best practice.
  • Knowledge of contemporary procurement systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
