Key Responsibilities
Under supervision of a qualified electrician, apprentices will be involved in the following:
- Reading mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and specifications to work out what the job needs
- Testing for, locating and repairing electrical faults
- Installing electrical and communications systems
- Assembling and fabricating electrical and electronic components and appliances
- Connecting electrical equipment to power supplies
- Maintaining automated production processes
- Sticking to safety procedures every time — no shortcuts
- Other duties as the job calls for
Skills And Knowledge
- Genuine interest in the trade — you like fixing things and you like doing them well
- Strong attention to detail, methodical, good diagnostic head
- Practical, good with your hands, physically fit
- Reliable, on time, and prepared to back yourself
- Works well in a small team and communicates clearly, verbally and in writing
- Good eyesight and normal colour vision
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Must Hold a Current Drivers Licence.
