Purpose of the role

Driven by our purpose of helping our customers and communities thrive, NGM Group proudly delivers customer-owned banking to more than 600,000 Australians under the Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent brands. In this rewarding 9-month contract opportunity, you'll help turn that purpose into action by bringing our retail brand community partnerships and activities to life.

You’ll also put your creativity to great use by developing strong execution strategies for community initiatives and leverage plans in collaboration with our internal departments, partners, and suppliers.

What will your key responsibilities include?

  • Coordinate and deliver grassroots community events, initiatives, and sponsorship activities, including on site delivery and support.
  • Plan and manage event logistics, activation items, and internal team attendance to ensure seamless delivery and ROI of initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and departments to maximise community engagement and event visibility.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and key stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage team processes such as signage requests, marketing assists, and general community enquiries.

What are we looking for?

  • A genuine passion for community connection and impact, ideally demonstrated via relevant professional or volunteer experience.
  • Qualifications in communications, marketing, business, or a related field, and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while remaining positive, collaborative, solutions-focused, and highly attentive to detail.
  • A natural organiser who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Please note, due to the nature of this role, we require someone with the flexibility to travel regionally and at times work outside of standard business hours, including weekends.

Our benefits are designed to help you thrive — in and out of work. Think health and wellbeing support like Fitness Passport, corporate health insurance and annual flu vaccinations, plus lifestyle perks including hotel discounts and flexible work arrangements. We also back what matters most with 18 weeks paid parental leave, recognition programs, an employee referral program, and dedicated time to give back (two community volunteer days and three recreational leave days each year).
