About the role

In this role of People Services Lead, you will provide hands-on day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to the People Services Team that coordinates and oversees onboarding of new employees and internal employment changes. You will be responsible for leading a small team that delivers high-quality services, maintains accurate employee data and records of the transactional employee lifecycle activities.

The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of People Services processes, systems and ways of working, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, service delivery and the employee and leader experience. Ideal applicant will have a people focused leadership style that adds values to our high performing team and providing support and escalation as required. You will have strong stakeholder relationships skills and enjoy managing multiple priorities at once.

With the support of the People Services & Payroll Manager, you will be customer focused in resolving complex people operations queries and solutions focused to identify process improvements and efficiencies. You will have experience working in similar HR operations or people services teams with strong HR generalist experience.

Day to day responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of core People Services processes, including onboarding, employment changes, fixed-term contracts, casual conversion, worker screening and employment lifecycle updates.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders whilst providing timely and accurate advice to ensure the efficient processing of requests and queries in the team and function.

  • Lead, coach and support the People Services team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.

  • Ensure that all customer enquiries are resolved in a timeframe that meets established service level agreements.

  • Review, map and continuously improve People Services processes, systems, policies and procedures, identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance efficiency, service delivery and the employee and leader experience.

  • Work with broader People Operations team to manage compliance and governance processes.

About you

  • Lead and support an engaged team to deliver value add transactional services and superior service delivery.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Business, or similar, is desirable.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources, People Services or HR generalist role within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, privacy obligations and contemporary human resources policies, practices and trends

  • Previous experience leading a team including training, development, and mentoring.

  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to produce work that is accurate and timely.

  • Tech Savvy in use of Microsoft Office Suite and systems relevant to the role including SharePoint, PeopleSoft or other HRIS Systems & My Recruitment Plus.
