About The Role And Team

We have an opportunity for a Service Clerk to join our Canberra office on a casual basis.

As a Service Clerk you will provide a high level of customer service to employees and partners within the firm in a timely and professional manner. Responsibilities include reception, catering, and facilities. Including archiving and off-site file storage.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • opening, sorting, scanning and distributing inward coming mail;
  • coordinating and processing all outgoing mail, including booking local or interstate courier;
  • photocopying, scanning files and electronic media, uploading or downloading files to filesite;
  • attending court for document filing and photocopying subpoena documents;
  • hand-delivering documents to locations within walking distance in CBD when it is urgent;
  • putting together physical copies of counsel or medical briefs;
  • receiving clients, visitors and contractors, arranging them to sign in;
  • setting up meeting rooms and organising catering for client and staff meetings;
  • ordering breakfast items and office stationery supplies;
  • processing files for off-site archiving and storage;
  • housekeeping duties such as stacking and emptying dishwashers, and
  • other ad hoc duties when required.

About You

You will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • qualification in either a business or legal administration course;
  • attention to detail;
  • excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team structure;
  • proactive approach with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work;
  • positive attitude and willingness to learn;
  • ability to work under pressure during peak times; and
  • proficiency with Microsoft office.
