The Management Accountant role will be joining our expanding Finance Team here in our offices in South Perth and will work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to ensure budgets / forecasts are effectively managed, assist with financial analysis and provide support in the key operational decisions of our growing Not for Profit.
This position as our Management Accountant will be focused on our Home Care section and take a leading role in the preparation of the monthly/ yearly finance reports, board reporting and the annual budgeting/ forecasting process. You will need to have strong Management & Financial Accounting experience along with the ability to analyse financial trends and predict outcomes.

The Role & You
- Build effective working relationships with Key Internal stakeholders, including Executives and Operational Management.
- Lead the integration of a newly acquired Home Care business, which includes implementing processes, posting journals, bank reconciliations…etc.
- Prepare consolidated month end management reports and be able to provide insightful commentary that clearly ‘tells the story’ for key variances.
- Take a leading role in planning, reporting, and analysing the annual budget and forecasting process for Home Care areas and assist the team with any areas that are required.
- Responsible for reviewing and ensuring budget integrity of the monthly results for multiple business units when required.
- Assist in the financial analysis and recommendations for growth opportunities.
- Provide support to operational leaders regarding expense coding, income recognition, capex reporting and ongoing adjustments as required.
- Assist in improvements to financial reporting and KPI reports.
- Build Ad-Hoc financial modelling to review scenarios and predict trends in the general ledger.
- Prepare standing journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting entries.
- Work closely with the Financial Accountants to prepare and submit the Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys, Annual Prudential Compliance and Aged Care Financial Reporting and Quarterly Financial Reports to the Department of Health and Aged Care.
- Preparation and lodgement of various Business Performance surveys.
- Support the Finance Manager and Financial Planning & Analysis Lead with the preparation of board reporting and technical papers that support decision making.
Your Knowledge, Skill And Experience
- Fully qualified or working towards CA/CPA qualification.
- Previous experience with Epicor, Prophix and Power Bi is highly regarded but not essential.
- Experience in both Financial and Management Accounting will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills that delivers effective teamwork and establishes successful working relationships with a focus on customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care industry and the key drivers for performance.
- Proven experience with Business Partnering at an Executive level will be highly regarded.
- Ability to bridge the gap between finance and operations by being able to convert financial data into a story that is easily understandable from non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of Microsoft Office product skills (advanced excel preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders, including Executive.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
