Your role at St John of God Social Outreach
We are seeking applications from experienced and compassionate Accredited Mental Health Clinicians (Psychologists, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists) to join our Social Outreach team in the Blacktown region of Western Sydney on a permanent full-time basis.
This unique role offers the opportunity to work across two mental health programs,
Mental Wellbeing, which provides adult mental health support and Raphael Services, a perinatal mental health service, both delivered under the better access scheme. You will provide therapeutic support to individuals, families and communities, helping clients achieve meaningful and sustainable mental health outcomes.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions to clients aged 16 years and over under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Working collaboratively with other mental health clinicians, you will be supported by a dedicated administration team to ensure the provision of coordinated and holistic care.
The successful candidate must have significant experience in mental health services and experience in using a wide range of therapeutic modalities to support clients in achieving their goals.
The Position
- Provide comprehensive assessment, case formulation and care planning for a diverse and complex caseload across both service streams.
- Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
- Support clients experiencing mental health concerns, including perinatal mental health presentations.
- Work collaboratively with individuals to enhance wellbeing and strengthen family relationships.
- Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, GPs, referrers and external service providers to support integrated care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, case notes and professional correspondence in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate reflective practice and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Uphold professional, ethical and legal standards in accordance with AHPRA, AASW/APS, ACHS and St John of God Health Care policies and procedures.
- Contribute to a safe environment through adherence to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
About You
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy, with current registration or membership eligibility with the relevant professional body AHPRA or AASW with mental health accredited and eligibility to obtain a Medicare Provider Number.
You will bring demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based mental health interventions and possess strong clinical reasoning, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in, or a strong interest in, perinatal mental health will be highly regarded.

We can offer you
- Salary: $75,038 – $118,246 plus 12% superannuation – Commensurate with your level.
- Permanent full-time position, working 38 hours a week.
